This week’s theme is: Peek.
As you may have guessed, I’m a big fan of abandoned places. I am intrigued by the picture of the past they create in my mind, as well as what they say about the current state of the place in which they are found.
This series of photos was taken last weekend (November 2018). I had fun playing with lighting and frames, using the empty windows and missing ceilings to create my images.
This is an abandoned copper mining site located 2 hours outside of Santiago, Chile. You can get to it from San Jose de Maipo by driving east on Camino del Volcán. Just past the minuscule town of San Gabriel, there is a clearly marked turn-off for the Yeso Dam, a popular weekend spot for Chileans living in Santiago.
